The material is mainly developed as support for students that have another mother tongue than, English but can even used by students with a English language background. The material is intended to as a helpful tool for normal teaching. Here students have the possibility to work extra on different areas and concepts. It is important that you as a teacher leads the student through the right areas and levels.

webbmatte.se includes four main areas with a total of 21 areas. Because most areas within mathematics are connected, certain concepts will be included in several areas. Every areas has several sub headings with increasing difficulty. The introduction includes many pictures and short examples in connection to daily life. After this, there is a historical context included. Then successively this base is built upon and increased in difficult and breadth.
Here is a more details description of a pages different parts:
Text pages
The ambition is that the text should be easily read and include many examples in connection to daily life. The main idea is not to give a quick recipe about how to solve the problem, but to begin to build upon an understanding and give the solution towards the end. Tables, figures, and pictures should make the text more simple. The pages have a printer friendly format.
Translations
The English texts are translation to seven languages: Spanish, Russian, Persian, Arabic, Polish, Swedish and Somalian. The translations follow the English texts as closely as possible. In certain cases, the translation is adjusted to cultural difference in order to lead to better understanding. The translations are places in movable pop-up windows which can be places next to the English text for comparison.
Videos
The material includes about 50 filmed lectures in eight different languages : English, Swedish, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Persian, Arabic, and Somalian. The idea with the videos is to emphasize the text and clarify concepts within areas the students normally find themselves in. The videos are normally two to six minutes long. They are done by math teachers. Remind the students that they can pause and jump back and forward as many times as they wish.
Questions
In the materials there are about 150 question areas. The questions are of a varying nature. Some are questions where an answer can be given quickly, while other demand more where the students should use paper and pencil in order to find a solution.
Exercises
The material includes more than 380 exercise pages, about 60 per language. The exercises are intended to check and summarize every section. The student fills in the answer and corrects them themselves.
Links
Some sections have links to web sites where students can exercise more with that area. We at webbmatte.se have not developed these pages, but we believe that these are a complement to our material. Note that not all the links are in English.
