6.2 Powers of Ten
When you write large numbers and very small numbers there are often a lot of digits of which to keep track. A practical way of writing numbers with many zeros is to you powers of tens, in other words those power which have ten as a base.
For example a million can be written:
1,000,000 = 106 because 1,000,000 = 10 ∙ 10 ∙ 10 ∙ 10 ∙ 10 ∙ 10
