2.4 Measuring with Your Own Units
From the beginning, before there were the generally accepted units of hours and seconds, we used our own measurements of time.

Maybe you have at one point thought about how long it takes to do certain things?

Do you know exactly how long it takes for you to get to school?

Do you know how long it takes for you to go to the pool?

We can imagine that it takes us three times as long to get to the pool compared to walking to school.

Then we can say that it takes 3 walks to school to get to the pool.

1 walk to the pool = 3 walks to school

We have then created a new unit of time.  1 walk to school and 1 walk to the pool.
