4.2 Division
In order to learn division with negative numbers, you must first understand multiplication of negative numbers which you learned in 4.1.

Do you remember the connection between division and multiplication?

12 ÷ 4 = ?
<=>
4 · ? = 12


If we show this with a negative number and a positive number, it looks like this:

(-18) ÷ 6 = -3 since (-3) · 6 = -18

Here we not that we multiply a negative number with a positive number and we know then that the product will be negative.
