1.2 Dividing fairly
Everyone has at some time ended up in a situation where they needed to divide up, for example, soft drinks, candy or money with someone or several people. We want to be able to divide it into equal parts.  So, it is a good idea to have knowledge about fractions.

You can do this is many ways. One way is to test things out and another way is to calculate. When you have learned calculation, you will be able to divide things up fairly.

Here are two examples:

  • You are three friends who are going to share two bottles of soda pop.

  • You family is going to share half a cake.

If you can calculate with fractions, then you also have learned about calculating with decimals and percents.
